About Caitlin Callahan

Senior Artist Caitlin Callahan

is keeping it effortless. Durable and natural looks define her signature style, which has carried the Canadian native on a stellar career working on shows and editorials across the world. Since joining M·A·C, Callahan has lived in New York and Los Angeles, before more recently returning to Vancouver where she now lives with her family. Her ideal night consists of sitting out on her deck, playing Monopoly with her kids and sipping a martini. But don’t let that fool you. Callahan was an anarchist from the beginning, as she explains how it all started with a love of the rock band Kiss...

Kid Rock

“I grew up in Victoria, British Columbia. My first makeup-related memory was painting myself and my sister as members of Kiss. I was six. I started at a M·A·C counter in 1992, without ever having attended makeup school. I was so proud of the first full makeup I did. I then went to the bathroom only to find my customer washing her face. That day I learned to listen and ask questions…not just paint away!”

French Connection

I love traveling to Paris. Typical, I know but c’mon, it’s the greatest city in the world. When I go, I take Face and Body Foundation with me, as well as Opulash and Half Lash Curler. If I have more room, I’ll bring the first M·A·C products I fell in love with too: Coquette and Vanilla Eye Shadows, Twig Lipstick and Cubic Blush.

Simply Does It

“Women in Vancouver are quite low maintenance with their makeup – we want versatile, long- wearing and natural looking products. You can achieve effortlessly chic with Prep + Prime Natural Radiance and So Sweet So Easy Cremeblend Blush. I’d recommend Prep + Prime Beauty Balm Compact SPF 30 for everyone to have in their makeup bag. It makes the skin so luminous and bouncy, I touch-up every couple of hours. Then if you want to go out, just add Tarnish Eye Kohl to the waterline and smudge over the lower eyelid with a 219 Pencil Brush – presto!
